NO its not the like button this is how:-        have you ever been searching for something and all you get is bunch of promoted links and links which are automatically generated for your search on other sites which are of no use?. Here the +1 button gets the useful pages up the search and also takes off the load from Google in the page ranking category because we are ranking the page for Google. Finally its way more better than facebook like button as we all will see in the coming future.Link for +1
